Nigerian rapper, Olamide Afrobeats act after Fela Kuti.

Gkingmusikreports that the, has addressed the wave of reactions that trailed his recent comment ranking Wizkid as the top uproar began after Olamide made the remark during a press briefing in Toronto, Canada.

Fans of Burna Boy and Davido pushed back on social media and argued that their favourites also deserved top placement.

Reacting through his X handle, Olamide said people will always hold different views about music and artistes.

He said that the industry is wide enough for every artist to thrive, adding that music lovers are free to support whoever they choose without trying to downplay the work of others.

He explained that Burna Boy, Davido, and Wizkid have grown past taking offence at opinions about rankings, saying their success comes from focusing on their craft rather than arguments.

He wrote, “Honestly, this whole lengthy 3-way conversation is pretty much whatever. You can’t diminish anyone’s greatness, whether they’re A-list, B-list, or anything else. Feel free to believe what you want or support whoever you choose – there’s plenty of room in the sky for everyone.

“However, one thing to remember is that Burna, David, and Wiz aren’t narrow-minded enough to get offended by someone else’s opinion or perspective. That’s part of why they’ve reached where they are today.”
