He noted that the region requires a voice that will not be lost in the din of politics, but one that stands firm in defending the homeland, promoting the people’s welfare, and contributing constructively to national development through quality lawmaking.

Okwuosa stressed that a worthy senator must possess demonstrable capacity and a track record of public service that resonates with market women, farmers, artisans, and other grassroots stakeholders across Anambra South. Accessibility, he noted, is a key quality—someone respected by both the elite and the everyday people, and whose influence never becomes a barrier to engaging with the electorate.
He further urged that the candidate should be free from pride and prejudice, and while perfection is not expected, the individual must be devoid of questionable baggage that undermines public trust. “We need someone who has managed public resources transparently and effectively—someone whose integrity can stand public scrutiny,” he added.
As political parties prepare for the primaries, voters across the zone are actively weighing their choices, with calls for a free, fair, and credible process by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Within the All Progressives Congress (APC), indications suggest that Hon.
