PSG Granted Ligue 1 Postponement Ahead Of Chelsea Champions League ClashParis Saint-Germain (PSG) have been handed a significant boost ahead of their Champions League showdown with Chelsea after their request to reschedule a domestic fixture was approved.

The European champions were set to face FC Nantes in Ligue 1 over the weekend of 13 to 15 March, fixed between their last-16 ties against Chelsea on 11 March and 17 March. That match has now been pushed back to the week beginning 20 April.

The decision means PSG will enjoy a five-day break between the two European legs.

Chelsea, meanwhile, remain on course to host Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday 14 March at 17:30 GMT, just three days before Luis Enrique’s side arrives at Stamford Bridge.

Confirming the change, Ligue de Football Professionnel said: “At the request of Paris St-Germain, to best prepare for their two-legged tie against Chelsea, the LFP board of directors, in agreement with Nantes, have decided the Paris St-Germain-Nantes match will be played the week of April 20.

“The exact date and time of the match will be determined later.”

It is not the first time PSG have benefited from a similar adjustment. Last season, a league meeting with Nantes was also moved after it clashed with a Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa.

The most recent meeting between the two clubs saw Chelsea record a 3-0 win over PSG in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final.
