Nigerian striker, Samuel Chukwueze marked his return from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in grand style by helping Fulham secure a Premier League matchday 23 win at Craven Cottage earlier today, January 24.

Chukwueze scored a crucial goal as the Cottagers came from behind to beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at home, while Manchester City finally halted their poor run with a comfortable home win over Wolves.

Elsewhere, Tottenham snatched a late draw at Burnley and West Ham United continued their revival with an impressive victory over Sunderland.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City returned to winning ways with a convincing victory over bottom club Wolves. Pep Guardiola, under pressure after a winless start to 2026, left Erling Haaland and Phil Foden on the bench, yet his side were dominant from the opening exchanges.

Omar Marmoush opened the scoring early, stabbing home Matheus Nunes’ cross for his first Premier League goal of the season. City doubled their advantage just before half-time when Bernardo Silva’s clever pass found Semenyo, who finished calmly from the edge of the area.

Wolves threatened briefly late on through Yerson Mosquera, but City were rarely troubled as they saw the game out with ease.

The Hammers stormed into a three-goal lead before half-time, with Crysencio Summerville heading home Jarrod Bowen’s cross, Bowen converting from the penalty spot, and Mateus Fernandes smashing in a stunning long-range effort.

Sunderland pulled one back after the break through Brian Brobbey, but West Ham held firm to seal a result that extends their winning run to three games in all competitions and piles pressure on their relegation rivals.
