Premier League Results: Chukwueze Scores For Fulham, Man City Return To Winning Ways, Others

Nigerian striker, Samuel Chukwueze marked his return from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in grand style by helping Fulham secure a Premier League matchday 23 win at Craven Cottage earlier today, January 24.

Chukwueze scored a crucial goal as the Cottagers came from behind to beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 at home, while Manchester City finally halted their poor run with a comfortable home win over Wolves.

Elsewhere, Tottenham snatched a late draw at Burnley and West Ham United continued their revival with an impressive victory over Sunderland.

At Craven Cottage, Fulham looked flat for long spells in the first half and were punished in the 28th minute when Yasin Ayari swept Brighton ahead after being teed up by Olivier Boscagli. The visitors carried that lead into the break and appeared in control.

Marco Silva changed the mood of the game just before the hour mark by introducing Chukwueze. The Nigerian winger made an immediate difference, levelling the score in the 72nd minute with a sharp finish from Joachim Andersen’s assist. The goal lifted the home crowd and Fulham pressed for a winner.

That decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time when Harry Wilson kept his composure to fire home in the 92nd minute, completing a dramatic turnaround and sending Brighton away empty-handed.

At the Etihad Stadium, Manchester City returned to winning ways with a convincing victory over bottom club Wolves. Pep Guardiola, under pressure after a winless start to 2026, left Erling Haaland and Phil Foden on the bench, yet his side were dominant from the opening exchanges.

Omar Marmoush opened the scoring early, stabbing home Matheus Nunes’ cross for his first Premier League goal of the season. City doubled their advantage just before half-time when Bernardo Silva’s clever pass found Semenyo, who finished calmly from the edge of the area.

Wolves threatened briefly late on through Yerson Mosquera, but City were rarely troubled as they saw the game out with ease.

At Turf Moor, Tottenham Hotspur were held to a 2-2 draw by Burnley in a breathless contest. Micky van de Ven put Spurs ahead in the 38th minute, only for Axel Tuanzebe to restore parity just before the interval. Burnley then took the lead through Lyle Foster in the 76th minute, but Cristian Romero rescued a point for the visitors with a late equaliser.

Earlier today, West Ham United produced one of their most convincing displays of the Premier League season to beat Sunderland and edge closer to safety.

The Hammers stormed into a three-goal lead before half-time, with Crysencio Summerville heading home Jarrod Bowen’s cross, Bowen converting from the penalty spot, and Mateus Fernandes smashing in a stunning long-range effort.

Sunderland pulled one back after the break through Brian Brobbey, but West Ham held firm to seal a result that extends their winning run to three games in all competitions and piles pressure on their relegation rivals.
