Gkingmusik  reports that the Giwa, during an interview on Arise Television on Saturday, recalled her childhood experiences, expressing doubt that ten women have not gone through the circumstances she faced.

The Senator, who represented the Cross River South Senatorial District in the Senate from 1999 to 2003, noted that she entered politics for a voice, not to become a politician.

She said, “I joined politics for a voice and not to be a politician. I doubt 10 women have gone through what I’ve faced. When they talk about being young, I’ve always felt I’m aging well. I’ve never been young.

“I saw my mother, a journalist, arrested multiple times. She was into Igbo politics. During the war, we were in Biafra. She made us Biafrans.

“I met a journalist who left a promising career in America to contribute here. He married me, but despite living separately, I had the worst experience of my life seeing his shattered body in the mortuary.”

In other news, former Minister of Communication, Isa Pantami, has refuted the allegation of labelling politics as haram (evil).

Gkingmusik  reports that Pantami, a Minister during the administration of late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, made this rebuttal on Friday during an interview with BBC Hausa.

He said his rationale for being in politics is to bring good governance to his people and to Nigeria at large.
