Gunmen Attack Ibori-Suenu At Delta APC Congress
Violence marred the All Progressives Congress (APC) congress in Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State on Saturday as gunmen attacked the member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency, Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu.
Ibori-Suenu, the daughter of former Delta State Governor, James Ibori, was reportedly targeted at the congress venue in Ovade.
According to the Daily Post, the incident occurred shortly after the federal lawmaker arrived at the party venue.
Eyewitnesses disclosed that several persons sustained injuries during the attack.
The lawmaker and her supporters were reportedly confronted by armed assailants, who allegedly fired gunshots and wielded other dangerous weapons in a bid to prevent her from accessing the venue.
However, the attack was foiled by Ibori-Suenu’s security details, who ensured her safety amid the chaos.
Following the incident, the lawmaker appealed to APC supporters in the state to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate tensions.
In other news, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has said only a fool would declare the APC is a party of saints.
Gkingmusik reports that Keyamo, in a post via his 𝕏 handle on Saturday, said no political party can boast about having saints.
According to Kayemo, APC still remains the best hope for Nigerians, and the country cannot return to the era of PDP.
