Governor Nwifuru Suspends Two Ebonyi Commissioners
The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has approved the indefinite suspension of two Commissioners.
Gkingmusik reports that the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, and the Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession, Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, were both suspended over alleged dereliction of duty.
The decision was conveyed in a statement issued on Saturday by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor.
According to the statement, the two commissioners are to immediately relinquish their positions and hand over all government property in their possession.
“The Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has approved the indefinite suspension from office of Engr. Stanley Lebechi Mbam, Hon. Commissioner for Works and Engr. Ogbonnaya Obasi Abara, Hon. Commissioner for Infrastructure Development for Concession for dereliction of duties,” the statement read in part.
It added that the affected officials “are to handover all Government property in their possession including their official vehicles to the Secretary to the State Government with immediate effect.”
The statement did not provide specific details on the alleged dereliction of duties that led to the suspension.
