‘Akpabio Responsible For Conspiracy Against Nigerians’ – Kenneth Okonkwo
Chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has accused the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of conspiring against Nigerians over the decision on the unconditional electronic transmission of election results.
Gkingmusik reports that Okonkwo, in a post via 𝕏 on Tuesday, described the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a rogue party, chorused by some opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives who walked out of the Green Chamber in protest against the new clause in the Electoral Act adopted by the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
According to the movie star turned politician, it is evident that the APC wants to rig the 2027 election, but Nigerians are ready to resist the move.
Okonkwo urged Nigerians to commence civil action against Akpabio, adding that they must boycott every programme, ceremony, occasion, conference, symposium, business, and anything whatsoever in which the Senate President is involved.
The post read, “Events that played out in the National Assembly today confirm every Nigerian belief that APC is now officially a rogue party as chorused by some lawmakers of conscience – APC Olee!!
“It is obvious that this class of lawless lawmakers of APC think that Nigerians are joking when they insist that electronic transmission of polling unit results must be made mandatory. They think they can take Nigerians for a ride. Unfortunately for them, they do not know that we have had enough.
“Let it be on record that Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President, is personally responsible for this conspiracy against the Nigerian people. Nigerians, through the public hearing, unequivocally subscribed for unconditional electronic transmission of results. This position was agreed to by the INEC, both Chambers of the National Assembly, CSOs, and all stakeholders campaigning for free, fair, and credible elections in Nigeria.
“It is clear that APC wants to rig the 2027 general elections, but Nigerians must resist this. While street protests may assist in creating awareness, we cannot stop at that. We must commence civil action against Senator Akpabio.
“Henceforth, Nigerians must start boycotting every programme, ceremony, occasion, conference, symposium, business, anything whatsoever that Akpabio is involved in. Nigerians must remember that when blacks were segregated against in the transportation system in the USA, they boycotted the buses until the rogue transportation companies collapsed. Nigerians must embark on singling out Senator Akpabio for boycott until he repents and rescinds his devilish nachinations of sticking to election rigging and manipulation. Akpabio is an enemy of democracy, and henceforth, he should be treated as an enemy of Nigeria. The Supreme Court is clear that to go against mandatory electronic transmission of election results is to be an enemy of democracy. Nigerians should go into 2027 with the conclusion that “We have had enough.”
