Tinubu Orders Investigation Into Kano Market Fire

Tinubu Orders Investigation Into Kano Market FirePresident Bola Tinubu has expressed sympathy to traders and residents of Kano State following a fire outbreak at Singer Market in Kano over the weekend.

He expressed his sympathy in a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Sunday.

Gkingmusik reports that the fire began on Saturday evening and continued into the early hours of Sunday, destroying goods and affecting many food sellers in the busy market.

Several shops were damaged as the flames spread through parts of the market, leaving traders counting their losses.

After the incident, President Tinubu contacted the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to receive details about the situation and the level of damage caused.

He described the incident as painful and worrying, especially as it happened shortly after a similar fire destroyed many shops in the same market less than two weeks ago.

The President expressed concern over the repeated fire outbreaks at the market, which have left many business owners struggling to recover. He directed that a full investigation be carried out to find out the cause of the fires and prevent future occurrences.

This recent incident came less than two weeks after another fire at the same market earlier in February, where several large stores were destroyed and traders lost goods worth millions of naira.
